Skoda Kushaq Facelift Spotted Again During Testing – Big Changes Coming Soon?

Skoda is gaining momentum in India with its 2.0 strategy, and now the brand is preparing to refresh one of its most popular SUVs—the Skoda Kushaq. Recently, the facelift version of the Kushaq was spotted during testing, giving us a first glimpse of the upcoming changes. The SUV seen in the latest spy shots appeared to be the Monte Carlo variant, finished in a striking red shade. Here’s everything we know so far about the updated model.

Redesigned Looks with a Sporty Touch

From the spy images, it’s clear that most of the visual updates are focused on the front and rear sections. The side profile remains familiar, but there’s a new set of gunmetal grey alloy wheels that add a fresh touch. Interestingly, the facelift gets red brake calipers at the front, while the rear still uses drum brakes.

One of the noticeable changes is at the back, where the tail-lamps now follow a connected design, giving the SUV a modern appearance. At the front, we expect a larger grille, a revised bumper, and the same headlamp setup as before. Overall, the design tweaks are aimed at making the Kushaq look sharper and more premium without straying far from its original character.

Major Feature Upgrades Expected

In terms of features, Skoda is planning some serious upgrades. The facelifted Kushaq is likely to offer ADAS technology, which will bring autonomous safety features into the mix. It may also include a 360-degree camera system and a panoramic sunroof, two additions that are becoming increasingly popular in this segment.

Skoda is expected to retain many of the current features that buyers already appreciate. This includes the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, and the SUV’s 5-star GNCAP safety rating. These additions will enhance the driving experience while keeping safety and practicality front and center.

No Changes Under the Hood

While the design and features are getting a refresh, the engine options will remain unchanged. The facelifted Kushaq will continue to offer the same 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 117bhp and 178Nm, and the more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 148bhp and 250Nm.

Both engines will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox, depending on the variant. These engines are already known for their responsive performance and fuel efficiency, so it makes sense for Skoda to retain them in the new version.

Final Thoughts

The upcoming Skoda Kushaq facelift looks promising with its sportier styling and upgraded features. While it may not bring mechanical changes, the added tech and refreshed design could help it stay competitive in a fast-moving segment. If you’re planning to buy a compact SUV during the upcoming festive season, the new Kushaq might be worth the wait.
